Nahum was another prophet whom God called. Nahum did not have good news for the
people of Nineveh. God was going to punish them.
I need the background noise removed, just leave Nahum and the buildings. Please make a talking bubble big enough to fit in the sky over Nahum's head and directed at Nahum, with the words 'God will punish them' in it.Print it separate so the children can glue it in.
Do you remember the story of Jonah? Remember the city where he went. It was called
Nineveh. Remember that God was about to destroy the city. Jonah told the people how God
felt and they changed their ways. They told God they were sorry and they started following
God.

Remove the big fish, the boat, the three men, Jonah sitting under the lattice and Jonah talking to the people, abd leave their spaces, print out the pictures separate, and the children can glue them back in.
Nahum is written 150 years later. Guess what? The people of Nineveh went back to their old
ways. They stopped loving God and started loving themselves and idols instead. God said He
would destroy the idols made of wood and steel that were in their temples. (Nahum 1:14
NIrV)
God sent Nahum to tell the people that they were going to be punished for their disobedience.
God wanted them to know that He loved them and wanted them to follow Him with all
their hearts.
Once again, remove the background noise, just leave Hahum and the people.Write beside Jonah 'You are going to be punished for your Disobedience, only leave a space for them to write the work disobedience with the word scrambled beside it.
The Ninevites no longer listened to God and didn’t care about Him. God was going to punish
them.
Have the face blank so the children can write the expression in.
Then Nahum told Israel that God would take care of them. “God takes good care of those
who trust in Him.” (Nahum 1:7) This gave the people hope. They knew that God would do His
best and they knew that He loved them. We can trust God, too. He sent Jesus so we can have
a way to know Him and go to heaven.
Can you make the picture white, and have a cloud around the name Jesus, and the cross be black and white, and only on ONE page. The class can make a colage copy based in this picture in their books.
Craft:
God is slow to anger. Make a happy and angry face using paper plates. Cut out the
eyes. Use string to hold the paper plate on the face. Have one side of the face happy, and one side sad
