Sometimes it seems that people who are doing wrong get away with it. It does not seem fair.
It does not seem right. Habakkuk was a prophet of God. He saw evil people that were not
being punished. Habakkuk called to God and said, “Your eyes are too pure to look at what is
evil. You can't put up with the wrong things people do. So why do you put up with those who
can't be trusted?” (Habakkuk 1:13 NIrV)
This text needs to take up the whole page, and on the oposite page I need a maze. In the Sunday School folder there is a maze I want used, but the gates at the bottom of the page needs to be changed to a picture of the Earth.
In Chapter 3 we find out that Habakkuk was afraid of what would happen. It said in verse 16
that his heart was pounding and his lips were quivering (trembling). But Habakkuk decided to
put his hope and trust in God.
Can this page have the words Habakkuk put his hope and trust in God on it, but the name Habakkuk needs to be scrambled in brackets with a line next to it for the children to write in (made sure the line is long enough!!)
Sometimes it seems that God is far away. It may seem that He is not listening to us. But we
can always hope in the Lord. Habakkuk said, “The fig trees might not bud. The vines might
not produce any grapes. The olive crop might fail. The fields might not produce any food.
There might not be any sheep in the pens. There might not be any cattle in the barns. But I
will still be glad because of what the Lord has done. God my Savior fills me with joy. The Lord
and King gives me strength. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer. He helps me walk on
the highest places.” (Habakkuk 3:17-19 NIrV)
For this page, I need the text in the middle, and praying hands creaing a border around the outside. The children can colour the hands all different colours to represent the many different people who pray.
The Bible says that “those who are right with God live by faith.” (Romans 1:18 NIrV) Habakkuk
knew that God would help him and take care of him. He trusted God and was sure that
He would keep him safe. He put his hope in God. We can put our trust in God, too. God sent
Jesus to provide a way for us to know God and be with Him forever.
Have this text take up the whole page, and beside it put the crossword from the PDF, page number 8 on all except one. This one will be the teachers copy, and you must put page number 9 on it.
Craft: Prayer Bear
Directions for Prayer Bear
•
Color or paint Prayer bear and the words "Prayer Bear". Coloring
the stands is optional. (If you paint him, glue him onto the cardboard
first, so paper doesn't "curl").
•
Cut slit on top of Prayer Bear's front arm (from crossmark to crossmark).
•
Paste entire page onto cardboard or poster board. Except when gluing
Prayer Bear on, do not glue the area directly below the slit on his
hands (you will be putting your "prayer requests" there).
•
Cut out all pieces.
•
Insert stands so that he "sits up".
